Tottenham Hotspur F.C. set to revive interest in Morgan Gibbs-White
Tottenham are reportedly preparing a fresh attempt to sign Morgan Gibbs-White after failing to land the midfielder last summer.
Spurs had previously believed they had activated his release clause and wrapped up a deal, only for the move to collapse dramatically. Gibbs-White instead committed his future to Nottingham Forest F.C., with owner Evangelos Marinakis said to have blocked the transfer amid claims Spurs obtained confidential clause details improperly.
Despite that setback, the North London club are now monitoring the situation closely ahead of the summer window. Forest, who secured European qualification not long ago, are currently fighting to avoid relegation — a factor that could influence Gibbs-White’s long-term plans as he looks to strengthen his standing in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad.
However, any renewed approach is expected to be complicated. Forest are determined to demand a significant fee, with reports suggesting they will hold out for between £69 million and £74 million — regardless of whether they remain in the top flight or drop into the Championship.
Spurs may also face competition from Manchester United F.C. and Chelsea F.C., both of whom have been linked with interest. Tottenham, meanwhile, will need to secure their own Premier League status to strengthen their chances of winning the race for Gibbs-White’s signature.
