Vicario Fires Back at Tottenham After Forest Snoozefest — Fans Left Reeling

Guglielmo Vicario has officially closed the door on his Tottenham chapter, joining Juventus on loan with the Serie A giants holding a £8.5 million option to make the move permanent next summer.

The writing had been on the wall for the 29-year-old since late last season, when Antonin Kinsky overtook him as Spurs’ number one. Vicario endured a tough final campaign under heavy scrutiny, though his time in North London wasn’t without highlights — he played a key part in a fifth-place finish in his debut season and later helped the club lift the Europa League.

Away from the pitch, Vicario has carried himself with the same dignity throughout, both during his struggles and since his exit. Speaking to TuttoSport, he was reluctant to dwell on what went wrong, saying only that certain things didn’t align for reasons he’d rather not revisit. His focus, he explained, is now on the present and settling into life at his new club.

He did reflect on how the experience shaped him, saying a move abroad broadens a player through exposure to new cultures, languages, dressing rooms and ways of working — leaving him more mature and rounded, even if that growth depended on everything he went through beforehand. He described joining Juventus as stepping into a club with major history and ambition, calling that the challenge that will drive him daily.

It was Roberto De Zerbi who dropped Vicario in favour of Kinsky as Tottenham fought to stay up, but there’s clearly no ill will between the two. Vicario spoke warmly of their relationship, praising his fellow Italian for being honest and straightforward with him from the start, and said he personally thanked De Zerbi on the day his Juventus move was confirmed. He credited the manager for keeping his word and backing him to take this next step.

Vicario will now look to turn a difficult Spurs send-off into the start of a fresh, successful chapter in Turin.
