Barcola bombshell from Romano as Liverpool are told exactly what they need to do next

Liverpool have received a huge boost in their pursuit of Bradley Barcola, with the Paris Saint-Germain winger reportedly giving the Reds the green light on personal terms.

The breakthrough removes one of the biggest obstacles standing in the way of what could become one of the summer’s biggest transfers. However, Liverpool’s biggest battle may now be with PSG rather than the player.

The Reds must convince the French champions to lower their enormous valuation of the 23-year-old, with negotiations between the clubs still ongoing.

Barcola has emerged as Liverpool’s priority target as they reshape their attacking options following Mohamed Salah’s departure. His blistering pace, aggressive running and ability to play across the front three make him a strong fit for Andoni Iraola’s energetic style of football.

Romano provides major Barcola update

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Barcola has given Liverpool his final approval regarding personal terms.

With Liverpool and PSG now negotiating directly, the player’s agreement is reportedly no longer an issue. The major sticking point is the transfer fee.

Sky Sports reports that PSG have placed a valuation of around £145 million on Barcola, creating a significant financial gap that Liverpool must bridge if they are serious about completing the deal.

The Reds have already opened preliminary discussions with PSG, but their current proposals have not yet convinced the Ligue 1 giants to sell.

PSG are also in a strong negotiating position. Barcola still has two years left on his contract, meaning there is little pressure for the club to cash in. Despite recently signing Maghnes Akliouche, PSG would still prefer to keep Barcola unless Liverpool meet their demands.
