Alexander Isak kept up his strong start at Liverpool by scoring the opening goal against Bournemouth. Just before the hour mark, the Swedish striker found space in the box and finished calmly from close range to give Liverpool the lead.
He then ran to the travelling Liverpool fans behind the goal and celebrated with them, embracing supporters as they marked the important breakthrough together.
Once the celebrations ended, though, the referee booked him. Players can be cautioned for going into the stands or celebrating too excessively with fans, since it can be seen as a risk to safety or a cause of disorder.
Isak seemed to accept the decision without much protest. The goal and Liverpool’s lead clearly mattered more to him than the yellow card.
