Kulusevski’s long wait is nearly over as Spurs lock in his comeback date after 500+ days on the sidelines!

There is finally some good news for Tottenham. Dejan Kulusevski is back in training and could be included in the matchday squad for Spurs’ next Premier League game, away to Coventry City.

Roberto De Zerbi said the club’s medical staff have cleared the winger to be considered for a place on the bench. According to the manager, Kulusevski was thrilled when he heard the news. De Zerbi added that the player has suffered a great deal during his recovery, and called this update one of the club’s biggest positives since the Everton game.

The injury has been more complicated than anyone first expected. Kulusevski had surgery on his kneecap, then needed a second minor procedure, and damage to the cartilage made the road back even harder. Sweden’s team doctor, Jonas Werner, had earlier explained that the area was under heavy stress and needed extra time to heal before a safe return to competitive football. The long layoff also ended his chances of a place in Sweden’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.

Spurs will now hope the 26-year-old can leave his injury problems behind and make an impact over the rest of the season. Since arriving on loan in 2022 and later making the move permanent, he has played 146 times for the club.

Could his return be the lift Tottenham so badly need?
