Tottenham have made initial contact with Atalanta regarding a possible deal for Italy international Raoul Bellanova. Spurs’ recruitment team has reached out to the Serie A club to explore the financial details of a potential transfer, part of a broader summer rebuild aimed at giving Roberto De Zerbi a stronger, more competitive squad heading into 2026-27.
The club’s transfer activity has been fueled by a £100 million injection from the Lewis family trust via ENIC Holdings. Having already added Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton (£52m), Mateus Fernandes from West Ham (£85m), and broken their transfer record for Newcastle’s Sandro Tonali (£100m), De Zerbi is now focused on strengthening the wide areas of his squad.
Bellanova — who, like De Zerbi, is Italian — is seen as an ideal fit for the right-back/wing-back slot, bringing the pace and physical edge De Zerbi wants from his wide players.
A move looks more realistic given a shift in his standing at Atalanta. With Maurizio Sarri now in charge at the Gewiss Stadium, Bellanova is said to no longer be central to the club’s plans, and Atalanta appear willing to cash in on him to help fund Sarri’s own rebuild. A fee of around €15-20 million (£13-17 million) has been floated.
That said, Spurs will need to act fast, as competition is building. Napoli under Massimiliano Allegri are also interested, while Premier League rivals Fulham, Nottingham Forest and Everton are all keeping tabs on the situation too.
