Arsenal shift focus to former Real Madrid wonderkid after setback in pursuit of Arteta’s preferred target.
The Gunners have reportedly turned their attention to Como defender Jacobo Ramón after their move for another defensive target hit a stumbling block.
The 21-year-old Spaniard impressed during his first Serie A season, making 32 league appearances and establishing himself as one of the division’s promising young defenders.
Ramón came through Real Madrid’s academy and even made six first-team appearances during the 2024/25 campaign before joining Como permanently for around €2.5 million.
However, any potential Arsenal deal could be complicated by Real Madrid’s existing agreement with Como, which reportedly includes a buy-back option and a 50% sell-on clause.
With Arsenal still looking to strengthen both their attack and defence, Ramón has now emerged as a surprise name on Mikel Arteta’s shortlist.
