Tottenham has reached agreement to Sell Key First-Team Star in £35m Move to London Premier League Side

Tottenham have reportedly reached an agreement worth around £35 million with Crystal Palace for the sale of Brennan Johnson, according to football.london. The Wales international, who arrived from Nottingham Forest for £47.5 million two years ago, has yet to settle on his next move, with several clubs circling the 24-year-old. Bournemouth are also understood to have made an approach.

Johnson was Spurs’ top scorer last season with 18 goals and famously netted the winner in the Europa League final against Manchester United, ending the club’s 17-year trophy drought. Should he leave, it would mark a third consecutive summer in which Tottenham have sold their leading scorer from the previous campaign.

Since Thomas Frank replaced Ange Postecoglou in June, Johnson has largely played a supporting role on the right wing behind summer signing Mohammed Kudus, fuelling growing speculation about his future. Crystal Palace currently lead the chase, although no final decision has been taken.

Despite the rumours, Frank reiterated Johnson’s importance to the squad after the weekend win over Palace. “I think Brennan is very important for us,” he said. “He may not have played many minutes, but we can only field 11 players. Mo Kudus has come in and made the right-wing spot his own, and we’ve tried different options on the left. Brennan has still started a number of games and remains an important player.”

Meanwhile, Palace boss Oliver Glasner has again voiced his frustration over limited transfer backing, referencing last summer’s sale of Eberechi Eze. “I don’t have enough money to sign players, the transfer fees are too high,” he said with a smile when asked about January assurances. “If you watch our games, it’s clear what we need. Ultimately, it’s a decision for the club. When you’re struggling to score goals, all I can do is encourage the players, support them and stay positive.”
