£40M Star Eyes Everton Move After Tottenham Fail to Complete Deal

Everton Step Up Pursuit of £30m Daniel Munoz as Transfer Deadline Looms

Everton are reportedly pushing to sign Crystal Palace right-back Daniel Munoz before the transfer window closes, with David Moyes eager to add another defensive option ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

The Colombian international has become a key target for Everton as Moyes looks to solve his right-back dilemma. The Toffees have shown strong interest in the 30-year-old, although securing his signature could prove difficult with several clubs also monitoring his situation.

Munoz’s future at Selhurst Park remains uncertain, with the defender reportedly having multiple options to consider. Palace, however, are unlikely to welcome his departure given his importance to the squad and his consistent performances in recent seasons.

Everton’s need for a specialist right-back has been particularly noticeable during pre-season. Jake O’Brien and Merlin Röhl have filled the position despite it not being their natural role, providing temporary solutions for Moyes. The manager is now believed to want a more natural option.

Munoz could fit the bill perfectly. He combines defensive experience with attacking ability and could provide Everton with greater threat down the right flank.

Everton Face Competition for Munoz

Everton have already considered other options, including Celtic defender Alistair Johnston, but his injury has complicated that pursuit. As a result, Munoz appears to have moved higher on the Toffees’ shortlist.

According to DSports journalist Mauricio Gonzalez Arteaga, Palace value the Colombian at around £30 million. While that would be a sizeable investment for Everton, Moyes could see the defender as someone capable of immediately strengthening his squad.

However, Everton are not the only club interested. Tottenham and Nottingham Forest are also reportedly tracking Munoz, potentially setting up a competitive battle for his signature.

Forest could pose a particularly serious threat, with Oliver Glasner already familiar with Munoz from their time together at Crystal Palace.

Why Munoz Could Be a Strong Fit

Munoz could give Everton something they have lacked from the full-back positions: greater attacking output.

The Colombian reportedly registered four goals and three assists in 29 Premier League appearances last season, while also creating eight big chances. His ability to contribute in the final third could provide Moyes with another attacking outlet.

At 30, Munoz would also bring valuable Premier League experience and should be able to adapt quickly to Everton’s demands.

With the transfer deadline approaching, Everton may need to move quickly if Munoz has become their preferred target. Palace’s £30m valuation, combined with interest from Tottenham and Nottingham Forest, means the Toffees cannot afford to wait too long.

For Moyes, completing the deal could provide the specialist right-back he has been searching for and strengthen Everton ahead of the new season.
