Ferran Torres has been given the green light to travel to Paris and undergo his medical ahead of his proposed move to PSG.
According to Fabrizio Romano, PSG have agreed a guaranteed €50m (£42.7m) fee for the Spanish winger, in a deal that could indirectly boost Liverpool’s pursuit of Bradley Barcola.
Torres move could help Liverpool
Torres’ expected arrival would give PSG plenty of depth on the right wing, particularly if Ibrahim Mbaye also leaves the club.
That could be an important development for Liverpool, who are continuing negotiations with the French champions over Barcola. If PSG also complete their expected move for Ajax winger Mika Godts, Luis Enrique could find himself with an abundance of attacking options.
With the PSG manager reportedly unwilling to keep players who want to leave, the club could eventually become more flexible over Barcola’s huge £145m valuation.
How much could Barcola cost Liverpool?
Romano has previously indicated that even a €120m (£102.5m) offer may not be enough to convince PSG to sell their winger.
While it would be unrealistic to expect PSG to suddenly drop their asking price by more than £40m, a compromise could potentially be reached.
A fee around £120m (€140.3m) could represent a realistic middle ground, particularly if PSG cannot attract another club willing to meet their £145m demands.
With Barcola’s contract running until 2028, PSG may also recognise that his market value could decline over the next few transfer windows, making this summer potentially their best opportunity to secure a huge fee.
