“We now have…” — Iraola reveals major Liverpool boost ahead of Como double-header

Iraola confirms major Liverpool boost ahead of Como double-header

Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola has confirmed a major squad boost ahead of Sunday’s two friendly matches against Como.

The Reds will face the Italian side twice, with the first game taking place behind closed doors at the AXA Training Centre before the teams meet again at Anfield in front of supporters.

Alexis Mac Allister has now returned from his post-World Cup break, making him the final Liverpool player from the tournament to rejoin the squad. Iraola is delighted to finally have his full group of World Cup players back.

Liverpool have also been strengthened by the arrival of Ronald Araújo on loan, giving Iraola more options as he prepares for the new Premier League season.

The Reds will still be without several injured players, including Hugo Ekitike, Conor Bradley, Giovanni Leoni and Joe Gomez. However, Mac Allister’s return and Araújo’s arrival provide a timely boost ahead of the season opener against Newcastle.

Liverpool fans could also get their first look at Jeremy Jacquet if he recovers in time to feature against Como.
