Alan Smith names his Premier League top six for 2026/27 with bold Arsenal and Tottenham prediction

Former Arsenal striker Alan Smith has revealed his predicted Premier League top six for the 2026/27 campaign, making some interesting calls involving Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham.

Smith believes Arsenal and Manchester City will once again be the two main contenders for the Premier League title, despite City entering a new era under manager Enzo Maresca following Pep Guardiola’s departure.

The former Gunners striker expects Arsenal to successfully defend their crown, although he sees Manchester City as their biggest threat.

For the rest of his top six, Smith has backed Manchester United to finish third, followed by Liverpool in fourth and Chelsea in fifth.

Aston Villa complete his predicted Champions League places, with Smith expecting the Europa League winners to maintain their place among the Premier League’s leading clubs.

Interestingly, Smith does not expect Tottenham to break into the top six despite their huge summer spending spree. Spurs have reportedly invested around £350 million on new players, including Mateus Fernandes, Jan Paul van Hecke, Andy Robertson and Sandro Tonali.

While some pundits believe Roberto De Zerbi’s side could challenge for European football, Smith has opted to leave Tottenham outside his predicted top six.

His prediction adds further pressure on Spurs to prove their summer investment can translate into a significant improvement in the league table.
