Newcastle United are reportedly open to allowing Nick Woltemade to leave on loan this summer as interest in the Germany international continues to grow.
The 24-year-old has already attracted attention from Aston Villa, Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, but Liverpool and Manchester United have now emerged as potential destinations.
Sources close to the agents’ industry claim both Premier League giants are monitoring Woltemade’s situation and could consider him as an option to strengthen their squads.
Woltemade’s spell at Newcastle has not gone entirely to plan, but he remains highly rated across Europe. His versatility could also make him an attractive option, with the forward capable of operating as either a No. 9 or No. 10.
Newcastle are believed to value him at around €65 million and would prefer a permanent transfer. However, a loan deal with an option to buy could be more realistic at this stage.
Liverpool and Manchester United are not currently in talks for the player and he is not viewed as a priority target for either club. However, both are expected to continue monitoring developments.
Woltemade could potentially use a move to revive his career after struggling to establish himself at St James’ Park.
For Newcastle, another departure would add to a turbulent summer. Sandro Tonali and Anthony Gordon have already left, Bruno Guimaraes is reportedly on his way out, while Eddie Howe has also departed as manager.
Woltemade may not be as influential as those names, but his potential exit would represent another major change during a period when Newcastle desperately need stability.
