Liverpool and Manchester United have reportedly been placed on alert after Newcastle United indicated that Nick Woltemade could leave the club on loan this summer.
The Germany international has attracted interest from several clubs, including Aston Villa, Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund. However, sources within the agents’ industry now claim that both Liverpool and Manchester United are monitoring his situation.
Woltemade, 24, has struggled to make the desired impact at Newcastle, but his reputation remains strong. His ability to operate as either a No. 9 or No. 10 makes him an attractive option for clubs looking to strengthen their attacking depth.
Newcastle are believed to prefer a permanent transfer worth around €65 million, although a loan deal with an option to buy could be more realistic at this stage.
Liverpool and Manchester United have not opened talks yet, and Woltemade is not currently considered a priority target for either club. Nevertheless, both sides are expected to keep a close eye on developments.
For Newcastle, another potential departure would add to what has already been a turbulent summer, following the exits of Sandro Tonali and Anthony Gordon, while Bruno Guimaraes is also reportedly expected to leave.
