Barcola to Liverpool? French journalist drops MAJOR update
Liverpool’s pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola has received a significant boost, with French journalist Fabrice Hawkins suggesting that a breakthrough in negotiations could be close.
According to Hawkins, Liverpool have already made several verbal offers for the 23-year-old, but PSG have yet to receive the formal written proposal that could finally push the negotiations towards an agreement. He claims the next written bid could be the one that gets the deal done.
The major stumbling block remains the transfer fee. Reports indicate that PSG want somewhere in the region of €130m–€150m, with Hawkins stating that the deal is unlikely to happen for less than €120m. However, he added that the parties involved remain confident an agreement can eventually be reached.
Liverpool have made Barcola one of their main attacking targets as new manager Andoni Iraola looks to strengthen his forward line. The Reds are particularly keen to add another attacker following Mohamed Salah’s departure.
Barcola’s situation at PSG has also increased speculation over a move. The French winger is reportedly open to joining Liverpool, while PSG have strengthened their attack this summer, potentially making his departure more realistic.
For now, no agreement has been reached, but today’s update suggests Liverpool are still pushing and that negotiations could be approaching a decisive stage.
