Jones is expected to travel to Italy on Thursday before undergoing his medical on Friday, with an official announcement likely to follow.
Losing Jones will undoubtedly hurt Liverpool, particularly after the midfielder played a significant number of minutes last season. However, the speed of the Inter deal provides encouragement that other transfers could also be completed quickly.
With around 10 days remaining, Liverpool urgently need to strengthen their squad. The team already lacks depth in key areas, and Jones’ departure creates another position that may require attention.
