Tottenham reportedly agreed a deal worth £85m, including add-ons, to sign Savinho last Friday, with the Brazilian subsequently left out of Manchester City’s matchday squad for their Premier League clash with Bournemouth on Sunday.
Omar Marmoush, meanwhile, started the season on City’s bench, but shortly after the game, Fabrizio Romano issued his famous “Here we go” confirming the Egyptian’s move to Tottenham.
Romano reported that Spurs had agreed an initial loan deal for Marmoush with an obligation to buy him for £50m next summer. However, almost two days later, Tottenham had yet to officially announce either signing.
Savinho completes Tottenham medical as Marmoush waits in London
Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe has now eased supporters’ concerns by confirming that Savinho has successfully completed his medical at Hotspur Way ahead of his move.
UPDATE: Tottenham have since officially announced Savinho as their seventh signing of the summer.
O’Keefe also revealed that Marmoush is currently in London as he waits for his proposed transfer to Spurs to be completed.
The insider wrote in separate updates: “Marmoush is in the capital waiting. He’s in London because they could get the go-ahead at any moment.”
Man City reportedly delaying Marmoush transfer
The latest update comes a day after O’Keefe claimed that the delay surrounding Marmoush’s move was not Tottenham’s fault.
According to the Spurs insider, Marmoush and Tottenham have already reached an agreement and are simply waiting for Manchester City to give the final green light.
The reason behind the delay remains unclear. One possibility is that City want to sign another forward before allowing the Egyptian international to complete his move to North London.
