Liverpool reportedly made contact with Real Madrid to explore the possibility of signing Brazilian forward Endrick before the transfer window closed.
The Reds are said to have considered several options, including a permanent transfer as well as a loan deal that could have included an option to buy. Liverpool’s enquiry came as the club looked to strengthen its attacking options.
However, Real Madrid were not interested in opening negotiations for the 20-year-old. Reports indicate that both the club’s hierarchy and manager José Mourinho were keen to keep Endrick at the Santiago Bernabéu and rejected Liverpool’s approach.
Liverpool were not the only club to show interest, with other European sides also reportedly monitoring the Brazilian’s situation. Despite the growing interest, Real Madrid maintained their stance that Endrick was not available for either a sale or a loan.
Endrick, who spent part of last season on loan at Lyon, has impressed with his potential and remains determined to fight for his place in Madrid. For now, Liverpool’s hopes of bringing the talented forward to Anfield appear to be over, with Endrick set to remain at Real Madrid.
The situation could potentially change in a future transfer window if his role at the club changes, but as things stand, Real Madrid have made their position clear: Endrick is staying in Madrid.
