Liverpool Eye Surprise Deadline-Day Move for Stuttgart Star

Liverpool Linked With Surprise Deadline-Day Move for Stuttgart Star Jamie Leweling

Liverpool are reportedly considering a late move for VfB Stuttgart attacker Jamie Leweling as they look to strengthen their squad before the transfer window closes.

According to reports from Sky Germany, both Liverpool and Everton are showing interest in the German international, although it remains unclear whether either club will make an official approach before the deadline.

Leweling enjoyed an impressive campaign with Stuttgart last season, registering 11 goals and 12 assists across all competitions. The 25-year-old is capable of playing on either wing, with his versatility making him an attractive option for potential suitors.

Liverpool are believed to be particularly interested because they are still looking to strengthen the right side of their attack. Following Mohamed Salah’s departure, the Reds have yet to bring in a natural replacement for the right wing.

Although Liverpool have signed Victor Munoz and Bradley Barcola, both players are considered more comfortable operating from the left side. Leweling could therefore provide an option on the opposite flank and help fill an important gap in the squad.

However, completing a deal could prove difficult. Leweling remains under contract with Stuttgart until 2029, meaning the German club are unlikely to allow him to leave cheaply. With very little time remaining in the transfer window, Liverpool could also struggle to negotiate an agreement quickly.

Everton are also monitoring the situation. With Iliman Ndiaye reportedly heading to Manchester City, the Toffees may need to bring in a replacement, and Leweling is said to be one of the players they are considering.

It now remains to be seen whether Liverpool or Everton will make a concrete move for the Stuttgart winger before the transfer deadline.
