🚨 BREAKING:Lamine Camara plot thickens as Liverpool transfer target told he can complete move….More

Lamine Camara’s Liverpool transfer saga takes another turn as Monaco reveal major update

Lamine Camara’s future has taken another twist after the Monaco midfielder was told he could secure a major transfer “very soon,” amid reported interest from Liverpool.

The 22-year-old was at the centre of a dramatic deadline-day saga after Chelsea attempted to sign him from Monaco for around £47.1 million. Camara had already completed his medical as Chelsea looked to replace Enzo Fernandez, who had been allowed to join Manchester City for a reported British-record £125m.

However, the proposed move collapsed at the final stage after Monaco reportedly decided against selling Camara. Chelsea were left frustrated by the late change of position.

Liverpool have since emerged as a potential destination for the midfielder. According to talkSPORT, the Reds reportedly told Camara to “wait,” with the possibility of making a move for him next summer.

Monaco sporting director Thiago Scuro has now provided further insight into the situation. He confirmed that Camara had asked to leave following the Chelsea approach, but said he had spoken directly with the player and reassured him that another major opportunity could arrive soon.

Scuro explained that Monaco’s initial plan was to keep Camara for another season, despite receiving interest from several clubs throughout the summer.

“Our priority was always for Lamine to stay,” Scuro said, explaining that the midfielder was entering his third season at the club and remained an important part of their plans.

According to Scuro, Chelsea made their move after selling Fernandez and contacted Monaco in the afternoon to ask whether the French club would reconsider their position on Camara.

Monaco initially maintained that the player was not for sale. However, circumstances surrounding Folarin Balogun’s proposed move to Everton subsequently changed the situation.

Chelsea then returned with an offer and negotiations began, with Scuro saying he personally informed Camara and his representatives about the discussions.

The talks continued while Everton assessed Balogun’s medical. Eventually, Everton decided there was no issue and proceeded with the deal, meaning Monaco no longer needed to sell Camara to generate the required funds.

Scuro defended Monaco’s decision to end negotiations with Chelsea, insisting that the club had not acted unfairly during the chaotic final hours of the transfer window.

He also acknowledged that Camara became excited by the possibility of joining Chelsea after speaking with the club and its manager. The midfielder subsequently asked Monaco to find a way for him to leave.

Despite that request, Monaco decided to keep him.

Scuro added that Camara’s reaction was understandable and insisted the club would continue supporting the player.

He also expressed confidence that the midfielder would remain fully committed on the pitch and continue developing his career at Monaco.

The latest development could prove significant for Liverpool, particularly if their reported interest in Camara remains strong. With the player now aware that Monaco could be open to a future transfer, the Reds may have an opportunity to revisit the situation in the next transfer window.
