A massive boost for Tottenham! The club has been handed highly positive news ahead of their showdown with Aston Villa — a development that could significantly alter their battle to avoid relegation.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto De Zerbi marked the final whistle with celebrations after his team secured a win against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux Stadium on April 25, 2026.

Spurs now head into their next match against Aston Villa knowing it is crucial to take all three points. Even after beating Wolves, they still sit two points shy of safety with just four games remaining.

There is some encouragement ahead of the fixture. Villa, managed by Unai Emery, have been inconsistent lately and are also juggling their Europa League semi-final campaign.

Tottenham may also be boosted by returning players. Guglielmo Vicario and Destiny Udogie are both nearing comebacks. De Zerbi had indicated Vicario would be back in training this week, and he could even feature against Villa after missing the past three league matches. Udogie, who sat out the Wolves game with a muscle problem, is likewise hoping to be fit in time.

Still, there are lingering injury worries. Dominic Solanke, who was forced off against Wolves, is not believed to have suffered a major issue, but his availability remains uncertain. The same applies to Pape Matar Sarr, who is dealing with a shoulder injury.

Elsewhere, James Maddison is not yet ready to return, while Mohammed Kudus, Xavi Simons, Cristian Romero, Dejan Kulusevski, Ben Davies, and Wilson Odobert are all still sidelined as they continue their recoveries.
