A move back to Everton for Richarlison is starting to look like a genuine possibility, with his current circumstances at Tottenham Hotspur likely to determine whether it happens.
The Brazilian, who will turn 29 next month, has remained closely connected to Everton since leaving in 2022 during Frank Lampard’s tenure. Ever since, the club has been repeatedly linked with a reunion, and that interest has never really faded.
Now playing at the Hill Dickinson Stadium and chasing a potential European place, Everton are actively seeking attacking additions, with Richarlison still among their main targets. Despite approaching 29, he is viewed as a strong fit for David Moyes’ setup due to his energy, versatility, and goal threat.
Everton are also monitoring the situation at Tottenham carefully. With just over a year remaining on his contract, a key decision on his future is approaching. There is increasing speculation that Spurs could struggle to retain him if they were relegated, which would greatly improve Everton’s chances of striking a deal. Relegation could trigger a squad overhaul at Tottenham, making experienced, high-earning players like Richarlison more attainable. Even if Spurs stay up, Everton’s interest is expected to continue, though any move would be far more straightforward if Tottenham dropped into the Championship.
For now, a return is still more of an ideal scenario than something close to completion. However, with Everton keeping a close eye on developments, the prospect of Richarlison returning is certainly not out of reach.
During his previous spell at the club, he scored 53 goals in 152 appearances and was instrumental in helping Everton avoid relegation. It is also believed he would be open to coming back if the chance presents itself.
Injuries are a potential concern, as he has missed a number of games over the past two seasons. That said, he is not the only forward Everton are considering.
The club are also following Feyenoord’s Ayase Ueda, who has netted 26 goals this season. Additional options include Chelsea’s Liam Delap, Bologna’s Santiago Castro, and AZ Alkmaar’s Troy Parrott, underlining the broad scope of Everton’s transfer plans ahead of the summer window.
