Tottenham Hotspur are intent on avoiding a repeat of this season’s relegation battle after scraping Premier League survival on the final day of the 2025/26 campaign.
Head coach Roberto De Zerbi is looking to overhaul his squad in the wake of their survival. The Italian wants to bring in players who suit his style and system, while moving on a number of underperformers to make room for reinforcements.
Staying up ahead of fellow London side West Ham has bolstered the club’s standing both on and off the field. Survival helps secure the futures of several important players and could aid Spurs in attracting new talent from Europe to plug key gaps. That said, not every member of the current squad is expected to feature in De Zerbi’s plans as the summer rebuild at N17 gets underway.
Bissouma drops hints over Spurs exit
Yves Bissouma endured a difficult season hampered by injuries, disciplinary issues, and off-pitch problems. The midfielder managed just 11 Premier League outings after lengthy spells on the sidelines, though he did play a part under De Zerbi during the club’s tense run-in. With his contract in North London now nearing its end, Bissouma appeared to hint at a departure with a farewell-sounding message on Instagram.
“As the season comes to an end, I just want to thank the club, the staff, my teammates, and all the supporters for the love and support throughout the year. Grateful for every moment. Thank you for everything, Spursofficial,” the Mali international wrote.
Turkish clubs keeping tabs on Bissouma
Reports indicate Tottenham have chosen not to renew the 29-year-old’s deal, with the midfielder expected to depart on a free transfer when his contract expires in June. After four inconsistent seasons at the club, Spurs’ hierarchy are said to believe the time is right to part ways.
Despite a difficult spell in England, Bissouma continues to draw attention from Turkey. Fenerbahce have reportedly revived their interest after missing out on him last summer, while newly-promoted Amedspor are also said to be keeping tabs on the player as he weighs up a fresh start away from the Premier League.
