Liverpool are on the verge of completing the signing of Spanish winger Victor Muñoz, with reports claiming the 22-year-old has already undergone his medical despite currently being away on World Cup duty with Spain.
The Reds reportedly beat competition from Manchester United, Newcastle United, Bayer Leverkusen and Real Madrid to secure the talented Osasuna star. Newcastle had been leading the race before Liverpool stepped in and hijacked the deal.
Muñoz is regarded as one of Spain’s brightest young prospects, known for his pace, flair and attacking ability. While he is still developing and lacks extensive top-level experience, Liverpool see him as a player with huge potential and an ideal fit for Andoni Iraola’s plans at Anfield.
The move is expected to become the first signing of the Iraola era, with Liverpool continuing to reshape their squad ahead of the new season.
