Son Heung-min responds as Tottenham officially confirm Sandro Tonali signing

Son Heung-min remains a constant presence in the hearts of Tottenham fans worldwide.

The winger built his own legacy in N17 over a decade with the club, before departing on the highest possible note.

Winning a major trophy for Spurs had always been Son’s dream, and he finally achieved it by helping the club claim Europa League glory just over a year ago.

The 33-year-old then decided the time was right for a fresh chapter away from North London, making the move to MLS club Los Angeles FC — with talk of a possible Tottenham return surfacing ever since.

Son reacts as Spurs move fast

Now, with Tottenham pushing hard on transfer business for Roberto De Zerbi, Son is clearly keeping tabs on developments.

The South Korean has been tipped for a return to Spurs this summer, continuing speculation that first emerged last winter. He’s shown he’s still got it in front of goal too, notching 14 goals in 34 appearances for LAFC.

But Tottenham’s focus is on the future — and they’ve now confirmed their latest signing of the summer for De Zerbi.

The club officially unveiled Sandro Tonali’s arrival from Newcastle on Monday, and Son didn’t hesitate to react, liking the announcement post on Instagram after the midfielder put pen to paper on a long-term deal.

Record spending continues

According to Sky Sports, Spurs paid a club-record £100 million for Tonali. The move adds to a growing list of summer signings that already includes Andrew Robertson, Marcos Senesi, Jan Paul Van Hecke, Martin Dubravka, and Mateus Fernandes.

A new era of spending

Tottenham have now shelled out roughly £240 million on transfers this summer alone, on top of free-agent additions — a clear sign the club is determined to give De Zerbi the squad he wants without delay.

This marks a departure from the Spurs of old, where Daniel Levy typically held out until deadline day to squeeze maximum value from deals. Joe Lewis, by contrast, appears to be taking a far less patient approach — one that seems to reflect what he expects from his head coaches.
