Liverpool have received another boost in their pursuit of Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye, with both PSG forwards reportedly left out of the squad once again as speculation over their futures continues.
The Reds have been working to bring both wingers to Anfield in recent weeks, with Barcola viewed as a potential long-term successor to Mohamed Salah following the Egyptian’s departure earlier this summer and subsequent move to Turkish club Trabzonspor.
However, Liverpool have yet to reach an agreement with PSG for either player, with the two sides seemingly still separated by significant differences over their respective valuations.
Luis Enrique previously left Barcola and Mbaye out of PSG’s squad for last weekend’s unexpected 1-0 defeat to Lens in the French Super Cup. That decision now appears to be continuing, with RMC Sport reporting that neither player will feature when PSG begin their Ligue 1 title defence away to Rennes on Sunday.
Both players trained normally on Saturday morning, but they are still expected to leave the Parc des Princes before the transfer window closes.
Liverpool have also been pursuing Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh, having reportedly seen bids of £50m and £60m rejected in recent days. The Gambia international is believed to be valued at around £70m and is also rumoured to have agreed personal terms with the Reds.
Brighton, meanwhile, are reportedly considering Deportivo La Coruna winger Yeremay Hernandez as a possible replacement for Minteh. The 22-year-old underwent leg surgery during the summer and could remain unavailable until November.
Elsewhere, The Times reported on Friday that Liverpool have made an unexpected enquiry to Real Madrid regarding the availability of Brazilian forward Endrick.
