Liverpool have reportedly made a £50m approach for Crystal Palace winger Ismaïla Sarr as they turn to him as an alternative to Yankuba Minteh.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Reds have opened talks with Palace after their pursuit of Brighton winger Minteh collapsed over Brighton’s demands.
Liverpool have submitted a proposal worth around £50m for the Senegal international, who is reportedly keen on making the move. Palace have already rejected two bids from Galatasaray for Sarr this summer.
The 28-year-old enjoyed an impressive campaign last season, scoring 21 goals in all competitions and helping Crystal Palace lift the Europa Conference League.
Sarr’s versatility could make him an attractive option for new Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola, with the winger capable of operating on either flank or through the middle.
Liverpool are looking to strengthen their attack after losing Mohamed Salah, while the club’s failed pursuit of Minteh has forced them to explore other options.
However, Palace may be reluctant to sell another key player after already losing Marc Guéhi and Maxence Lacroix.
