Spurs Eye Surprise New Target After Savinho and Marmoush Deals
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly lining up another major attacking addition after moving closer to deals for Manchester City stars Savinho and Omar Marmoush.
Spurs have agreed a package worth an initial £75 million plus £10 million in add-ons for Savinho, while talks over a separate deal for Marmoush are also progressing.
However, Tottenham’s transfer plans may not end there.
According to reports, manager Roberto De Zerbi wants another striker and has identified Crystal Palace forward Jean-Philippe Mateta as a potential target.
The French striker has scored consistently in the Premier League, reaching double figures in each of his last three seasons. He also helped Palace win the Conference League last season.
A move for Mateta could nevertheless carry some risk after a previous medical with AC Milan uncovered a long-standing knee problem that required surgery.
Despite that setback, the 29-year-old returned to action in March and has continued to be part of Palace’s plans.
Tottenham are also reportedly interested in Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo, meaning De Zerbi could have several attacking options under consideration as Spurs continue their ambitious summer rebuild.
