Tottenham Agree Yang Min-hyeok Exit — Medical Already Completed, Deal Close to Completion

Yang Min-hyeok Set for Tottenham Exit as Westerlo Deal Nears Completion

According to Sacha Tavolieri, KVC Westerlo have reached a full agreement with Tottenham Hotspur over a loan deal for South Korean winger Yang Min-hyeok.

The 20-year-old has already completed his medical examinations this morning, meaning the transfer is now understood to be very close to being officially completed.

EXCLUSIVE: Yang Min-hyeok is set to join KVC Westerlo on loan from Tottenham for the upcoming season.

The move also appears to provide a strong indication of Roberto De Zerbi’s current plans for the young winger.

Yang was given an opportunity to impress during the early stages of Tottenham’s pre-season campaign, featuring in two of their opening five friendly matches. However, he has not been involved in the squad since.

Another Loan Spell for Yang

Yang arrived at Tottenham from Gangwon FC with significant expectations surrounding his potential, but much of his development so far has come through loan spells away from the north London club.

In 2025, he spent time with Queens Park Rangers, making 14 appearances and contributing two goals and one assist.

Last season saw the winger embark on two more temporary spells, representing Coventry City and Portsmouth. Across those two loan moves, Yang made 20 appearances, scoring three goals and registering one assist.

Tottenham subsequently brought him back into the first-team group for pre-season this summer, giving De Zerbi the chance to assess him personally.

The Italian manager handed Yang minutes in two of Spurs’ first friendly matches, but his absence from the subsequent games appears to have been significant.

Spurs Have Made Their Decision

Yang has now missed Tottenham’s last three pre-season fixtures, and although the exact timing of De Zerbi’s decision remains unclear, the situation strongly suggests that the club have concluded another loan move would be the best option for his development.

A switch to Westerlo could provide Yang with the regular playing time he needs to continue progressing and adapting to European football.

His previous loan experiences have all come in the English Championship. Moving to Belgium would offer him a different environment and potentially allow him to enjoy more consistent first-team minutes.

With Tavolieri reporting that a full agreement has already been reached and Yang having completed his medical, there appears to be little left to resolve before the transfer is officially confirmed.

For Tottenham, the move also provides clarity over Yang’s immediate future. He was given an opportunity to work under De Zerbi during pre-season, but the club now appear ready to send him out for another season of development.

Yang’s next chapter looks set to begin in Belgium.
