Supercomputer predicts Tottenham and West Ham final points tallies with two fixtures to go
According to Opta’s Supercomputer, Tottenham’s projected final points total has been updated as the battle to avoid relegation comes down to the wire.
Spurs will likely regret their two home matches under Roberto De Zerbi, as they had plenty of chances to beat both Brighton and Leeds. However, they managed only two points from those games, keeping the survival fight very much alive.
West Ham now have the chance to leapfrog Tottenham before De Zerbi’s side next play at Stamford Bridge—a scenario Spurs would prefer to avoid.
Opta’s Supercomputer predicts final points for Tottenham and West Ham
Tottenham currently hold a two-point lead over West Ham, which is effectively a three-point gap given their significantly better goal difference.
Following the latest round of matches, Opta’s Supercomputer now forecasts that Spurs will finish the season with an expected 40.47 points—just over two points from their two remaining games. The positive news is that the data model expects West Ham to end on 38.57 points, meaning the current two-point margin is likely to hold until the end of the season.
If that prediction holds, the relegation battle could go to the final day, with Spurs needing a result at home against Everton.
