Fabrizio Romano has reported that a Liverpool player is open to a summer switch and has even consulted a teammate about the potential move to Italy.
Transfer expert Romano previously revealed that Inter Milan are monitoring Curtis Jones, who could become an attractive target this summer as he enters the final year of his contract at Liverpool FC.
There is growing interest from Serie A, with Inter Milan believed to be in talks over a deal, while Jones is said to be open to the idea of joining the Italian giants. Romano also claimed that Jones has spoken with Liverpool teammate Federico Chiesa about life in Italy.
According to Romano on his YouTube channel, Inter are actively pursuing the midfielder and have opened discussions with Liverpool. The Italian club are reportedly starting with an offer of around €20m, while Liverpool value him at over €30m, leaving a significant gap in negotiations.
Romano added that Jones is “keen” on the move and has asked Chiesa for advice on playing in Serie A.
Jones, a 25-year-old England international, is in the final year of his contract, which has placed Liverpool in a difficult position over whether to extend his deal or consider a sale to avoid losing him for free later.
While Inter’s interest is strong, Liverpool are still expected to try to keep him due to his experience, versatility, and status as a homegrown player. New head coach Andoni Iraola could also play a key role in convincing him to stay and reassess his future.
Romano is the journalist referenced throughout the report, known for breaking major transfer news across Europe.
