Sacked Tottenham manager Thomas Frank has broken his silence on his future, revealing he is in no rush to return to the dugout — but insists he will be ready when the right opportunity comes.
The Danish coach was dismissed by Spurs in February following a torrid run of just two wins in 17 matches, with the club only narrowly escaping relegation. Roberto De Zerbi has since taken charge after a brief interim spell under Igor Tudor.
International Football On The Radar
Since leaving North London, Frank has kept himself busy as a pundit for the BBC at the World Cup, and has used the time away from management to reflect and recharge.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Frank admitted international management holds genuine appeal — with the Denmark job naturally topping his wish list.
“International football would definitely appeal to me at some stage,” he said. “Right now my priority is returning to club management, but I’ve always loved major tournaments. The Denmark job would naturally interest me most if I went down that route — but I’m open-minded.”
Heartfelt Words For Tottenham
Frank also took time to reflect warmly on his spell at Spurs, despite the difficult results that ultimately cost him his job.
“From the outside it may have looked like a difficult period, but internally it was clear why Tottenham is such a special club,” he said. “There are many talented and dedicated people working hard behind the scenes, and I firmly believe the club has a bright future.”
No Rush To Return
Despite interest from potential suitors, Frank is content to wait for the perfect fit.
“There have been conversations, but I don’t feel this summer is the right time to return,” he confirmed. “When the right opportunity arrives, I’ll come back with renewed energy and full commitment.”
