“I’m Done Here, I Want To Play For…” — Furious Spurs Star Tells De Zerbi He Wants Out After Tottenham Blocked His Crystal Palace Move

Manor Solomon has opened up about his frustration following the collapse of a transfer to Crystal Palace last summer, leaving his long-term future at Tottenham Hotspur still very much up in the air.

The Israeli winger joined Spurs in July 2023 but was never able to nail down a regular starting spot, with injuries further hampering his chances of making an impact at the club.

Palace made a move for Solomon during the 2025 summer window, and the 26-year-old was keen to make the switch to Selhurst Park. However, the deal fell apart before the deadline, leaving the winger bitterly disappointed.

Speaking to Israeli outlet Sport5, Solomon shed light on what went wrong. Thomas Frank, who was managing Spurs at the time, initially wanted him to stay — but the club later reversed their position to free up a squad spot for PSG loanee Randal Kolo Muani. Solomon was subsequently shipped out on loan to Villarreal in September 2025, before a mid-season switch took him to Fiorentina in January.

“Towards the end of the transfer window, when I returned to playing, the manager saw me again and we spoke because I had an offer from Crystal Palace,” Solomon recalled. “He told me he wanted me to stay. We had already packed everything in London and the following day I travelled to join the national team. After I landed, Pini Zahavi called me. He was frustrated and explained that Tottenham had the opportunity to sign a French striker. Daniel Levy had spoken with him and they needed to free up a place in the squad, with that place likely to be mine.”

Feeling pushed out and unwanted, Solomon urged his agent to get the Palace deal done at all costs. “I told him, ‘Just get the Palace deal done. I don’t want to stay in a situation like this,'” he said. But negotiations between the two clubs hit a wall and ultimately collapsed. “There were negotiations between Tottenham and Palace, but apparently there were some issues between the clubs. The deal collapsed at the last moment. Once the transfer window closed, I was stuck at Tottenham, and I didn’t want to be there. I felt hurt by the way things were handled.”

As things stand, Solomon’s future remains unresolved heading into the summer, though his agent is said to be hopeful the winger could still have a part to play at Spurs next season.
