Liverpool’s hopes of signing Bradley Barcola may have received a significant boost after Paris Saint-Germain completed another major attacking addition.
Fabrizio Romano reiterated on Friday that Liverpool remain in ‘daily’ contact with PSG over a potential deal for the 23-year-old winger, with reports suggesting Barcola has already agreed personal terms with the Reds.
The main stumbling block remains the transfer fee. Liverpool are reportedly prepared to pay up to £120 million, while PSG are believed to value Barcola at around £145m.
PSG Complete Ferran Torres Signing
PSG officially announced on Saturday that they had completed the signing of Ferran Torres from Barcelona, with the Spanish international signing a five-year contract.
According to The Athletic, the French champions paid around £42.7m for Torres, making him another significant attacking reinforcement following the recent arrival of Maghnes Akliouche from Monaco.
Could Torres Increase Barcola’s Chances of Leaving?
Torres’ arrival is not directly connected to Barcola’s future, but the increased competition could make PSG more open to selling one of their existing attackers.
Luis Enrique now has an impressive collection of attacking options, with several players competing for just three starting positions.
PSG’s current attacking options include Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue, Bradley Barcola, Ferran Torres, Maghnes Akliouche and Ibrahim Mbaye.
With so many talented forwards fighting for playing time, keeping everyone happy could become increasingly difficult, especially if PSG make further additions.
Barcola played an important role in PSG’s Champions League campaign last season, but his chances of securing regular starts in 2026/27 could be affected by the growing competition.
Liverpool will still need to meet PSG’s asking price to get the deal over the line. However, Torres’ arrival could prove to be a crucial development, as the increased competition in Paris may ultimately make PSG more willing to sanction Barcola’s departure this summer.
