Arsenal Star Reportedly ‘Offering Himself to Barcelona’ Daily Ahead of Premier League Kick-Off

Arsenal Star Reportedly Pushing for Barcelona Move Ahead of New Premier League Season

Arsenal could face a late transfer headache, with reports claiming Viktor Gyokeres is actively pushing for a move to Barcelona before the transfer window closes.

The Swedish striker joined Arsenal from Sporting CP last summer in a deal worth around £55 million and scored 21 goals during his first season in North London.

However, Gyokeres reportedly found himself behind Kai Havertz in the pecking order toward the end of the campaign, particularly in important matches. Havertz also started Arsenal’s Community Shield victory over Manchester City, further suggesting that he remains Mikel Arteta’s preferred option up front.

According to journalist Victor Navarro, Gyokeres is offering himself to Barcelona on a daily basis as the Catalan giants search for a new No.9 following Robert Lewandowski’s departure and Ferran Torres’ move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Barcelona are reportedly prioritising Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez, while Julian Alvarez remains difficult to sign due to Atletico Madrid’s stance.

Gyokeres could therefore emerge as a more realistic alternative if Barcelona decide to pursue another striker.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are preparing to begin their Premier League title defence against newly promoted Coventry City at the Emirates on Friday.
