Tottenham strike broad agreement with Man City over Omar Marmoush deal, fee revealed – Exclusive

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly nearing the finish line on a deal for Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush, with the transfer said to be entering its closing stages.

TEAMtalk reports that the Egyptian has already agreed personal terms with Spurs, while Tottenham and City have struck an agreement in principle worth around £70 million, with add-ons that could push the total higher.

Interest first surfaced back in December, and after months of tracking the situation, Spurs have ramped up their efforts, with talks picking up pace rapidly in recent days. The 27-year-old is now expected to complete his medical and the remaining paperwork shortly, clearing the path for a move to north London.

Should it go through as anticipated, Marmoush would become Tottenham’s second major signing from the Etihad this window, joining fellow City man Savinho, whose own move to Spurs is expected to close for a fee north of £75 million.

Landing two attackers from the reigning champions underlines just how serious Tottenham are about beefing up their forward line before the deadline. Marmoush is viewed as someone who could give Roberto De Zerbi extra tactical versatility — his pace, directness and ability to operate both centrally and out wide could make him a key piece of the Italian’s plans.

Even with Marmoush closing in, Tottenham reportedly aren’t done. With the window heading into its final stretch, club sources have suggested more business could still be on the way. Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo remains high on the wishlist, and the Reds could reportedly be open to selling the Dutchman if they land two wingers of their own.

The message from Tottenham seems clear — they want to squeeze every last opportunity out of the market to give De Zerbi as strong a squad as possible. Marmoush’s arrival would mark another significant financial outlay from the club’s hierarchy and reinforce their ambition after a tough stretch.

Spurs fans will hope the Egyptian settles quickly and hits the ground running as the club looks to start the new season on the front foot. The Lewis family promised a big window for Tottenham, and the spending so far has certainly backed that up — but the real proof will come on the pitch, where De Zerbi needs his new arrivals to gel fast if Spurs are to mount a genuine push for a return to Europe.
