Liverpool Offered £51.4m Midfielder Who Could Solve Iraola’s Major Squad Problem
Liverpool have reportedly been handed a late opportunity to sign Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara, with the Senegal international allegedly offered to both Liverpool and Chelsea before the transfer deadline.
The Reds are still looking for midfield reinforcements, particularly a player capable of providing greater defensive protection in the middle of the pitch.
Camara could be an ideal solution for new manager Andoni Iraola. The 22-year-old has impressed with his defensive work, winning duels and making recoveries while also showing quality and creativity in possession.
Liverpool’s midfield options have also been reduced following Curtis Jones’ move to Inter Milan, increasing the need for another body in the position.
The club’s spending priorities could make a deal difficult, however, especially with Liverpool heavily focused on strengthening their attack and pursuing Bradley Barcola.
Reports suggest Camara could cost between £42.8m and £51.4m, meaning Liverpool would need to decide quickly if they want to take advantage of the opportunity.
With the transfer window closing soon, Camara could emerge as a surprise late addition to Iraola’s Liverpool squad.
