Gabby Agbonlahor Slams Richarlison as Tottenham Exit Draws Closer
Gabby Agbonlahor has launched a scathing attack on Richarlison amid growing speculation that the Tottenham forward could leave the club.
The Brazilian has endured a difficult spell in North London since joining Spurs from Everton in 2022, with his performances frequently dividing opinion among supporters.
After four inconsistent years at Tottenham, Richarlison has been linked with an exit throughout the summer. With some overseas transfer windows still open, a move away from N17 remains possible.
Speaking on talkSPORT, former Aston Villa striker Agbonlahor delivered a brutal assessment of the 29-year-old.
He questioned Richarlison’s ability to lead the attack, criticising his pace, hold-up play, attitude and perceived arrogance.
Agbonlahor also pointed to Richarlison’s relatively modest Premier League scoring record, arguing that his reputation does not match his actual output.
The criticism comes after Richarlison managed only one Premier League appearance this season, being substituted during Tottenham’s 3-0 defeat to Brentford under Roberto De Zerbi.
Despite the criticism, Richarlison did contribute to 15 goals and assists in the Premier League last season, arguably his most productive campaign at Spurs.
However, his overall numbers remain underwhelming, including just 9.06 successful passes and 0.55 successful dribbles per 90 minutes, alongside a 42.4% ground-duel success rate.
With his Tottenham future increasingly uncertain, Richarlison could now be approaching the end of his time in North London.
