Trabzonspor are racing to get a Richarlison deal done before Turkey’s transfer deadline, and the Brazilian is already said to have agreed personal terms with the club. Turkish reports suggest growing confidence in Trabzon that the move will happen, with attention now turning to hammering out a fee with Tottenham.
Spurs are equally eager to resolve the situation given Richarlison has made his desire to leave plain to head coach Roberto De Zerbi. His path to game time has narrowed further with Omar Marmoush’s arrival and Dominic Solanke’s continued preference ahead of him, even after Richarlison finished as Tottenham’s top Premier League scorer last season with 11 goals. He has just one year left on his deal, with the club holding an option for a further year.
Having joined from Everton in 2022, Richarlison was left out of the squad for the Newcastle defeat as his frustration became harder to ignore. A move back to Everton was explored before the English window shut but fell through, and the striker has since hinted publicly at wanting more control over his own future. With domestic options exhausted, Tottenham have turned their attention abroad, where Trabzonspor have positioned themselves as the frontrunners.
Trabzonspor have made Richarlison their top attacking priority this window. Two bids, reported at around £15 million and £20 million, have already been knocked back, though talks continue with the player himself said to be pushing hard for the switch. He has reportedly agreed personal terms including a significant pay rise on his current Tottenham wages, which has boosted Trabzon’s belief a deal can be struck.
The fee remains the sticking point. Tottenham want a fair return given their outlay on signing him from Everton, and De Zerbi has been consistent that any departing player needs to bring an “economic solution” rather than simply walk away. Richarlison’s willingness to move isn’t in question — it’s now down to the two clubs finding common ground financially.
Should Trabzonspor raise their offer to a level Spurs will accept, the deal could be wrapped up quickly ahead of the Turkish deadline, with some optimism that terms could be finalised within the next day. If so, Richarlison’s four years in north London would end with a fresh start awaiting him in the Süper Lig.
