Erling Haaland is among a number of players who appear to have taken aim at Arsenal indirectly through social media, following the Gunners’ defeat in the Champions League final.
Arsenal had made a promising start when Kai Havertz put them ahead as they chased a first ever European title, but Ousmane Dembele’s composed penalty in the second half brought PSG level.
Both sides went in search of a winner through the remainder of normal time and into extra time, yet neither could conjure the decisive moment, leaving the trophy to be settled from the spot.
Ultimately, misses from Eberechi Eze and Gabriel Magalhães proved fatal, condemning Arsenal to defeat in the final and denying them the chance to complete a historic double.
With the Premier League title still to be celebrated at a Sunday parade at the Emirates, the focus for Arsenal’s players will soon shift — but it was their rivals who were doing the celebrating on Saturday night.
Haaland’s Wordless Post Says It All
The timing of Haaland’s social media activity is unlikely to be accidental. The 25-year-old has shown repeatedly that he understands exactly what captures football’s attention, as evidenced by his many headline-grabbing exchanges with Arsenal over the years.
The Norwegian famously told the Gunners to “stay humble” during a previous encounter, and the pair have been locked in a compelling Premier League rivalry for the best part of four seasons. Earlier this campaign, Haaland was filmed smirking and singing along to Flo Rida’s “Good Feeling” after inspiring City to a crucial win over Arsenal that blew the title race wide open. While that particular battle did not ultimately go his way, it appears he has claimed at least one final laugh over his rivals — and he is far from alone.
Tottenham Players Pile On
It was not only Haaland getting in on the act. Spurs, Arsenal’s fiercest rivals, appeared to join the chorus through several of their prominent players. Richarlison was among the quickest to react, posting a video of a child in hysterics — the timing of which was anything but coincidental given Arsenal’s shootout exit.
That particular post may make for an interesting atmosphere when Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, Eberechi Eze, and Noni Madueke come face to face with Djed Spence in the England camp in the coming days ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
