Liverpool are reportedly considering a move for Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Micky van de Ven as they search for a replacement following Ibrahima Konaté’s departure.
The 25-year-old Dutch international has emerged as one of the Premier League’s standout defenders and is viewed as an ideal candidate to strengthen Liverpool’s back line. With his top-flight experience and proven quality, Van de Ven could seamlessly step into the role left vacant by the French defender.
However, securing his signature may prove difficult. According to reports, Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi is determined to keep the Netherlands international, seeing him as a key figure in his long-term defensive plans.
After narrowly avoiding relegation this season, Spurs are eager to rebuild and climb the table rather than risk another difficult campaign. As a result, they are reluctant to part with one of their most important players.
Van de Ven remains under contract until 2029, leaving Tottenham in a strong negotiating position. Any club hoping to lure him away from north London would likely need to submit a huge offer to convince Spurs to consider a sale.
