Roberto De Zerbi’s rebuilding job at Tottenham shows no sign of easing up, and alongside their big-money chase for Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi, Spurs are now eyeing a second standout young attacker from elsewhere in Europe.
Kroupi’s stock has soared after a sensational breakout season in the Premier League. His scoring exploits as a teenager have put him firmly on the radar of Europe’s biggest clubs, meaning Tottenham face stiff competition to land him. Spurs are reportedly ready to go as high as £85 million to get Bournemouth talking, but the Cherries aren’t keen to sell and several other heavyweight clubs are also watching the young Frenchman closely.
It’s easy to see why he’s wanted — 13 Premier League goals in a single campaign ranks him among the best teenage scorers the league has produced, and marks him out as one of the game’s most exciting young forwards.
A second name enters the picture
Rafael Leão remains Tottenham’s top target, with Omar Marmoush and Savinho also on the list, but another player has quietly entered the conversation: RB Leipzig’s Antonio Nusa. Insiders say Spurs made initial contact with his representatives weeks ago and the talks have been positive, even if he’s currently behind other names in the pecking order.
Any deal for the 21-year-old Norwegian wouldn’t come cheap, given how highly Leipzig rate him. His output last term — five goals and four assists — doesn’t tell the full story of a player blessed with electric pace, slick dribbling and a fearless streak going forward. Data backs up the eye test too: he’s among Europe’s elite wingers for successful take-ons, ball-carrying into dangerous areas, and creating shooting chances through his runs.
A reputation built on more than numbers
Analyst Harvey Diamonds has tipped Nusa as a future £100 million-plus talent, and coaches who worked with him as a youngster in Norway have made bold claims about his ceiling — with one even rating him above a young Erling Haaland at the same stage.
Expectations like that are steep, but many think Nusa has the raw tools to live up to them.
The bigger picture
Should Tottenham land both Nusa and Kroupi, De Zerbi would have two of Europe’s most sought-after prospects to build his attack around — a pairing that could form the backbone of the club’s forward line for years to come.
