Tottenham midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur is expected to miss around three months through injury, according to talkSPORT.
The Uruguay international suffered a hamstring problem in Spurs’ 3-2 defeat to Bournemouth last Wednesday and was absent from the squad for Saturday’s FA Cup loss to Aston Villa.
While head coach Thomas Frank has not officially confirmed a recovery timeline, he admitted after the Cherries match that the injury “appears to be a serious one.”
Bentancur’s setback is likely to push Tottenham into action in the January transfer window as they look to strengthen their midfield options.
Atletico Madrid midfielder Conor Gallagher has been linked with a potential move to north London, but talkSPORT reports that a deal is currently not being considered.
