Liverpool Urged to Make Shock Move for Trent Alexander-Arnold Return

Liverpool have been urged to consider a surprise move to bring Trent Alexander-Arnold back to Anfield, despite the controversy surrounding his departure for Real Madrid.

The idea remains divisive among supporters, but Liverpool’s current situation at right-back could make a reunion worth exploring. Conor Bradley is still recovering from a serious knee injury, while Jeremie Frimpong has looked more effective when playing further forward.

Although Liverpool have added Jeremy Jacquet and Victor Muñoz this summer, neither signing directly addresses their lack of a proven creative right-back.

Pundit backs shock Trent return

Speaking on talkSPORT’s Transfer Insiders, pundit Angelina Kelly suggested Liverpool should at least investigate the possibility of bringing Alexander-Arnold home.

She admitted that many fans still feel betrayed by his decision to leave, but believes the club should separate emotions from the footballing situation.

Alexander-Arnold endured a difficult first season at Real Madrid, starting just 14 league games. His situation could become even more uncertain following Madrid’s reported move for Denzel Dumfries.

With Bradley still unavailable and Frimpong not offering the same passing range and creativity as Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool could potentially benefit from his return.

However, there are major obstacles. Real Madrid would likely demand a significant transfer fee, while Alexander-Arnold would also have to win back the trust of supporters after his controversial exit.

A return could make sense if the financial terms are reasonable and the player is genuinely committed to rebuilding his relationship with Liverpool.
