Will Lankshear is set to be handed a chance in the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur, as the young striker also lines up another possible loan spell to aid his continued development.

Will Lankshear enjoyed an excellent loan spell with Oxford United in the Championship, and Tottenham Hotspur are now considering whether the 21-year-old is prepared to take the next stage in his career.

Spurs manager Roberto De Zerbi is eager to evaluate his entire squad during pre-season, with the young forward expected to receive an opportunity to showcase himself within the senior team.

According to Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Tottenham hold Lankshear in high regard and feel he has the quality to break into the first team, no matter which division the club competes in next season.

However, Spurs’ ongoing relegation battle with West Ham United may impact both their summer recruitment strategy and the striker’s short-term future.

Football Insider previously revealed on 15 May that De Zerbi plans to closely assess Lankshear throughout pre-season preparations. Should the striker impress, he could push his way into Tottenham’s Premier League squad.

2025/26 stats at Oxford United:

* Starts: 37
* Minutes played: 3,125
* Goals: 12
* Assists: 4

Despite the club’s confidence in his talent, another temporary move is still viewed as a likely option, with clubs from both the Premier League and Championship showing interest.

It was also reported on the Transfer Insider podcast that several teams are monitoring Lankshear after his impressive spell at Oxford. Tottenham reportedly believe he has a real opportunity to establish himself at the club, although key decisions will depend on which league Spurs find themselves in next season.

The report added that the striker sees this summer as a major chance to make an impression and potentially secure a regular place in De Zerbi’s squad. Even if Tottenham remain in the Premier League, a strong pre-season could help him earn a role in the team.

Meanwhile, clubs in England and overseas are expected to explore loan opportunities for the England Under-21 international.

Leeds United are believed to be among the interested sides as they search for support for Dominic Calvert-Lewin, although they may favour a permanent signing instead.

At the same time, Ipswich Town are also thought to remain interested after missing out on Lankshear in January. Following their promotion to the Premier League, the Tractor Boys could renew their pursuit during the summer window.
