Liverpool Reach Personal Agreement With Ibrahim Mbaye Ahead of PSG Talks
Liverpool have reportedly taken a major step toward signing Paris Saint-Germain youngster Ibrahim Mbaye this summer after agreeing personal terms with the highly rated attacker.
According to French journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Liverpool and the 18-year-old have reached an agreement over the financial terms of a five-year contract. Mbaye has also reportedly decided against pursuing interest from Bayer Leverkusen.
The next challenge for Liverpool will be reaching an agreement with PSG over a transfer fee.
Mbaye is regarded as one of Europe’s promising young attackers and could provide Liverpool with additional pace, creativity and attacking threat in the wide areas. The Reds are looking to strengthen their options on the flanks following Mohamed Salah’s departure, while Cody Gakpo has also been linked with a potential move away.
Liverpool have reportedly identified Mbaye and PSG teammate Bradley Barcola as potential attacking targets as they look to rebuild their forward line.
Mbaye Could Benefit From a Move
Mbaye found it difficult to secure regular first-team opportunities at PSG last season, making a move potentially attractive for his development.
Liverpool could offer the teenager a platform to play more regularly and continue his development at the highest level. With the right coaching and consistent game time, Mbaye has the potential to become an important player for the club in the future.
However, Liverpool still need to negotiate with PSG before the transfer can be completed. The personal agreement represents a significant step, but the clubs must now find common ground over the deal.
