Julian Alvarez has reportedly made his stance clear on a potential Arsenal transfer, despite Atletico Madrid being open to selling the Argentine forward.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Atletico are willing to consider a move to Arsenal, particularly because they would prefer not to strengthen a direct La Liga rival such as Barcelona.
However, Alvarez reportedly does not want to join Arsenal. The 26-year-old is said to have one preferred destination: Barcelona.
The Argentine reportedly views Barcelona as his “dream” move and is keen on linking up with former Manchester City teammate Rodri at Camp Nou.
Alvarez has been outstanding since moving from Manchester City to Atletico Madrid in 2024, scoring 49 goals in 106 appearances for the Spanish club.
Atletico manager Diego Simeone has also suggested that the club remains open to potential developments before the transfer window closes.
With Arsenal already boasting Viktor Gyökeres and Kai Havertz in attack, Alvarez would represent a huge addition—but his current preference appears to be Barcelona rather than the Premier League champions.
