Xavi Simons is gearing up for a fresh chapter after his standout season under Roberto De Zerbi was cut short by a serious ACL injury.
The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has been putting in the work to return to full fitness and is upbeat heading into the new campaign, telling Spurs fans to expect a “new Xavi” once the season begins.
He’s also encouraged by Tottenham’s strong summer transfer business and has been open about wanting to compete for major honours with the club.
Simons Reaches Out to Family After Tragic Loss
Simons has earned praise for a touching gesture following the death of 11-year-old George Dennis, who played for Ongar Juniors Under-12s.
Grassroots football confirmed George died after being seriously injured in a road accident on Epping Road on July 10, later passing away in hospital from his injuries.
Visibly moved, Simons publicly invited George’s family to join him at an upcoming Tottenham match as his guests, writing on X that the family would be welcome to attend a future Spurs game alongside his own family, and sending them his love.
Fans have also been pointed toward the family’s JustGiving page to offer support.
Simons Stokes Fresh Savinho Rumours
Simons has also kept speculation alive over a possible move for Manchester City’s Savinho to Tottenham.
Last month, he posted a throwback photo with Savinho from their days together at PSV Eindhoven, just as links between the Brazilian and Spurs began to gather pace.
He’s since appeared to fan the flames again with another hint on social media about a possible reunion in North London — activity that, combined with posts from Savinho himself, has left many Tottenham fans convinced a move could be in the works.
