Brighton Turn Down £50m Liverpool Bid for Injured Yankuba Minteh

Brighton & Hove Albion have reportedly rejected an opening £50 million offer from Liverpool for winger Yankuba Minteh.

The 22-year-old Gambian is among the attacking options Liverpool are considering as they search for a replacement following Mohamed Salah’s departure.

However, Brighton are believed to value Minteh closer to £70 million, despite the winger currently being sidelined with an injury that could keep him out for around eight weeks.

Liverpool are also monitoring Paris Saint-Germain youngster Ibrahim Mbaye, although PSG’s asking price is understood to be making a deal difficult.

Minteh has been on Liverpool’s radar for some time, and his pace, directness and ability to operate from the right flank make him an attractive option for Andoni Iraola’s side.

The rejected £50m bid could therefore be viewed as Liverpool testing Brighton’s resolve rather than the end of their interest.

With Liverpool still searching for a new right winger, further movement could be expected before the transfer window closes.
